Two million refugees have fled Syria

President Obama, seeking Congressional support for military intervention, is holding closed door meetings with Senate and House leadership; groundbreaking global treaty on the domestic workers' rights; Russia and the G20 summit; Israel; Kenya.

The United Nations refugee agency announced that the number of Syrians who have fled the country has surpassed 2 million people. "Syria has become the great tragedy of this century – a disgraceful humanitarian calamity with suffering and displacement unparalleled in recent history," said António Guterres, the UN's High Commissioner for Refugees.
