Urgent: stop flights to Los Angeles International Airport in the wake of a shooting incident inside Terminal 3 at the airport

No flights are departing from Los Angeles International (LAX) in the wake of a shooting at the airport this morning. Inbound flights are being allowed to land, and planes bound for LAX that have not taken off yet will be held at their origin airports. 

According to the airport's Twitter account, departures level roadways are being blocked by law enforcement. 

LAX is the sixth busiest airport in the world, so the shutdown in operations could have widespread impact on airline operations. 

According to FlightAware.com, inbound and outbound flights are being held until 11 a.m. local time. 

A local traffic reporter says access to the airport has been shut down, and traffic in the area is backed up for about three miles, according to Fox 5 news.

وجدير بالذكر أنه تم تحويل مسار طائرة أمريكية بعد ورود تهديد أمنى

قالت السلطات المحلية في مدينة فينكس الأمريكية إن طائرة تابعة لخطوط يونايتد اكسبرس من سان فرانسيسكو إلى سان أنطونيو تم تحويل مسارها إلى مطار فينكس سكاي هاربور الدولي بعد ورود تهديد أمني يهدد الطائرة وركابها.

ولم يتم معرفة طبيعة هذا التهديد، وبعد إجراء تحقيق مفصل في القضية، لم يتم العثور على أي شيء، وفقا للضابط في شرطة فينكس ستيف مارتوز.

وقد تم تحويل الرحلة عصر الخميس، وتم إخلاء الطائرة من الركاب وإعادة تفتيشهم من جديد، غير أن السلطات أنه لم يتم إخلاء المطار.

وقالت السلطات إن 47 راكبا على متن الطائرة.
