توفيت الممثلة الأمريكية الحاصلة على جائزة الأوسكار جين فوندا في ولاية كاليفورنيا الأمريكية عن عمر يناهز 96 عاما.
وذكرت هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية (بى بى سى) اليوم الإثنين أن فوندا فازت بجائزة الأوسكار عام 1942 عن دورها في فيلم "الشك"، وشاركت في العديد من الأفلام التي تركت بصمة في تاريخ السينما مثل "رسالة من امرأة مجهولة" ورائعة الأدب البريطانى "جين اير".
ولدت فوندا في اليابان من والدين بريطانيين، إلا أنها توجهت برفقة شقيقتها إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بحثا عن فرصة في هوليوود.. وتزوجت فوندا أربع مرات انتهت جميعها بالطلاق، وحملت الجنسيتين الأمريكية والبريطانية.
كانت قد ذكرت الممثلة الأمريكية الراحلة الشهيرة جين فوندا أنها تفكر في الموت يوميًا بعد إصابتها بسرطان الثدي. وقالت فوندا 75 عامًا وقتها في تصريحات لصحيفة "بيلد" الألمانية على هامش مهرجان برلين السينمائي الدولي (برليناله) "أحتضن الموت كل يوم".
وأضافت النجمة المخضرمة التي تربعت على عرش اللياقة البدنية إبان سبعينيات القرن الماضي: "إذا عاش الإنسان في خوف مستمر من الموت، فإنه لا يصبح حيًا. عندما تم تشخيص إصابتي بسرطان الثدي عام 2010 شعرت بالحزن لكني لم أخف، فقد عشت حياة مرضية"، وذكرت فوندا أنها بحكم سنها مضطرة لتقبل بعض القيود في حياتها، وقالت: "لا أستطيع مثلاً ممارسة تمرينات اللياقة البدنية بسبب إصابتي بهشاشة في العظام. لكني ألجأ إلى اليوجا الآن".
كانت تعتزم الممثلة الأميركية الشهيرة الراحلة جين فوندا القيام بأول دور بطولة في مسلسل تلفزيوني وهي في سن الرابعة والسبعين. وذكرت مجلة «فارايتي» الأميركية أن فوندا ستلعب في المسلسل الكوميدي «ناو وات؟» (ماذا الآن؟) دور أم تنتقل إلى ابنتها التي على خلاف معها بهدف إعادة العلاقة إلى طبيعتها.
يذكر أن النقاد أشادوا مؤخرا بدور فوندا الشرفي في مسلسل «ذا نيوز روم». وتجسد فوندا في فيلمها الجديد «ذا باتلر» (كبير الخدم) شخصية السيدة الأميركية الأولى السابقة نانسي ريغان، ومن المنتظر أن يعرض الفيلم في دور العرض السينمائي بحلول عام 2013. ويدور الفيلم حول كبير الخدم ذي البشرة السمراء، يوغين آلان، الذي عمل في البيت الأبيض لدى ثمانية رؤساء أميركيين.
ذكرت الممثلة الأمريكية الشهيرة جين فوندا أنها لم تخف من الموت عقب إصابتها بسرطان الثدي عام 2010. وقالت فوندا في مقابلة مع الإعلامية الأمريكية الشهيرة أوبرا وينفري في برنامجها «الفصل التالي»، والذي نشرت مجلة «بيبول» الأمريكية مقتطفات مسبقة منه: «كان ذلك اختبارا جيدا، لأنني كنت أقول دوما إنني لا أخاف الموت».
وأضافت فوندا (75 عاما): «أتعرفين، كنت أفكر أنني ربما أتغلب على المرض وربما لا، لكني لم أشعر بالخوف. آمل ألا أموت، لكني لست خائفة من الموت». وذكرت المجلة أن الورم تم استئصاله في ذلك الحين بنجاح، ونقلت عن متحدث باسم فوندا قوله: «إنها شفيت من السرطان مئة في المئة».
رافقت الممثلة الاميركية الراحلة جين فوندا النائب البريطاني جورج غالواي في جولة في الولايات المتحدة ضد وجود القوات الاميركية في العراق، وفق ما ذكرته صحيفة "واشنطن تايمز" المحافظة.
و زارو غالواي وفوندا ثماني مدن اميركية اعتبارا من منتصف سبتمبر.
وقالت الصحيفةان "جين فوندا وجورج غالواي سيؤكدان على الاموال التي تبدد في العراق بينما من الضروري مساعدة الناس في اميركا"، في اشارة الى بطء المساعدات للولايات التي ضربها الاعصار كاترينا.
وبدأت الجولة في في بوسطن (شمال شرق) في سبتمبر وأنتهت في واشنطن في الرابع والعشرين من الشهر نفسه. وأنتهز النائب البريطاني الذي طرد من حزب العمال الحاكم في 2003 هذه المناسبةة لترويج كتابه الجديد "غالواي في واشنطن".
وكانت لجنة في مجلس الشيوخ الاميركي اتهمت غالواي بتلقي اموال من نظام الرئيس العراقي المخلوع صدام حسين. وقد زار في مايو العاصمة الاميركية ليدافع عن نفسه واتهم اعضاء المجلس بادانته قبل الاستماع اليه.
وتشكل مشاركة فوندا في الجولة عودة للممثلة الاميركية الى النشاط السياسي الذي كانت من ابرز وجوهه في الولايات المتحدة.

Early Life
Born Lady Jayne Seymour Fonda on December 21, 1937, in New York City, Jane Fonda has enjoyed a tremendous career as an actress. She comes from a Hollywood dynasty of sorts. Her father Henry was one of the top actors of the 20th century. Her brother Peter and her niece Bridget have also had their share of success on the big screen.
Fonda faced some challenges growing up. Her father could be cold and distant. Her mother, socialite Frances Seymour Brokaw, committed suicide when Fonda was 12 years old. Not long after her mother's death, Fonda developed an eating disorder, which she struggled with for years. She attended boarding school and then went to Vassar College. Leaving college, Fonda went to Paris to study art.
Fonda returned to New York and did a bit of modeling for a time. Before long, she decided to follow in her father's footsteps. In 1954 she co-starred with her father, Henry Fonda, in a production of The Country Girl. Fonda began to study her craft with Lee Strasberg at the famed Actors Studio a few years later.
Career Beginnings
Fonda's career seemed to really take off in 1960. She made her film debut Tall Story (1960) with Anthony Perkins. On Broadway, Fonda netted a Tony Award nomination for There Was a Little Girl. She continued to juggle theatrical and film work over the next few years. Working with director George Cukor, Fonda starred in the romantic comedy The Chapman Report (1962). She shared the Broadway stage with Celeste Holm in Invitation to a March and Dyan Cannon in The Fun Couple around this time.
In the late 1960s, Fonda recreated herself as a type of sex kitten under the direction of her French filmmaker husband Roger Vadim. This new look was most evident in the 1968 science fiction tale Barbarella
She soon shed this image for more serious dramatic roles. She scored her first Academy Award nomination for 1969's They Shoot Horses, Don't They?. Two years later, Fonda took home her first Academy Award for her work on Sydney Pollack's thriller Klute, which co-starred Donald Sutherland.

Film Actress and Activist
In addition to her acting, Fonda became an outspoken critic of the Vietnam War. She traveled to North Vietnam in 1972—a visit that caused an uproar back at home. Many were particularly upset by Fonda's decision to pose for photos while sitting on an antiaircraft gun, one used to shoot at American troops. She was given the nickname "Hanoi Jane" and seen as a traitor for her support of the North Vietnamese. Fonda also fought for social causes, serving as a spokesperson on issues of civil rights and women's rights.
On the big screen, Fonda continued to deliver strong performers. She starred as playwright Lillian Hellman in Julia (1977) with Vanessa Redgrave. The following year,
Fonda won her second Academy Award for the Vietnam War drama Coming Home with Jon Voight. She also starred in the hit thriller The China Syndrome (1979) with Jack Lemmon and Michael Douglas around this time.
Another significant role for Fonda came a few years later. She co-starred with her father Henry in On Golden Pond (1982). The film explores the dynamics of a family during a visit to their summer home. Art mirrored life in this case, with Fonda playing daughter to her real-life father. Katharine Hepburn also starred as Fonda's mother. The film gave her father his first and only Academy Award win as best actor.
Around this time, Fonda also found herself spearheading a national health craze. She launched an immensely successful series of aerobic-exercise videos.
Recent Projects
In 2005, Fonda made a dramatic return to the public eye. She appeared in her first film in almost 15 years with Monster-in-Law, which also starred Jennifer Lopez and Michael Vartan. That same year, Fonda published an autobiography, My Life So Far. More film roles followed, including playing the title character in the 2007 film Georgia Rule with Lindsay Lohan.
Working on the small screen, Fonda appeared in the media-focused dramatic series The Newsroom in a recurring role in 2012. She is also set to play former First Lady Nancy Reagan in the upcoming film The Butler.
Personal Life
Fonda has been married three times—all of these unions ended in divorce. Her marriage to Vadim lasted from 1965 to 1973, and they had a daughter named Vanessa together. Then she married activist and politican Tom Hayden in 1973. Their marriage lasted until 1989, and they had one son named Troy Garity. Two years later, Fonda married media mogul Ted Turner. The pair divorced in 2001, reportedly over Fonda's newfound Christian faith. These days Fonda has been dating music producer Richard Perry.

Jane Fonda, 75, told Oprah she’s not afraid of dying. The breast cancer survivor is enjoying new roles in her lengthy acting career.
Jane Fonda is fearless, especially when it comes to death. The legendary actress told Oprah Winfrey that she isn't afraid to die, despite having had breast cancer.
"The fact that I made it and I'm all in one piece," Fonda, 75, told Winfrey in an interview for “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” airing April 14. "You know a couple years ago I got breast cancer, and that was a good test, because I always said I'm not afraid of dying, and I wasn't."
Fonda, who battled the disease in 2010 but has since been cancer-free, recalled her experience and the connection she felt to "millions of women."
After her diagnosis in 2010, and recovery from cancer, Fonda says ‘being an actress again is what interests me.’
"I mean, I felt, God, I've just joined a family of millions of women who have gone through this," she said. "[I thought] what a journey this is going to be. You know, maybe I'll make it and maybe I won't. I didn't get scared. I hope I don't die. But I'm not scared of dying."
Now acting again, with a recurring role on HBO's "The Newsroom" and taking on the role of Nancy Reagan in upcoming drama "The Butler" alongside Winfrey, 54, Fonda reflects on her nearly 60 year career.
"Being an actress again is what really interests me," she said. "You spend your life exploring… and at the end of all your exploring you come back to where you first started, and know it for the first time."
