11 rapists of Kafr al-Sheikh woman sentenced to prison

Kafr al-Sheikh Criminal Court reduced the sentences of eleven convicted rapists Tuesday, handing them prison terms on appeal instead of the death penalty.

The men were convicted in 2010 and sentenced to death for abducting a woman at gunpoint in 2006 from her home in a Kafr al-Sheikh neighborhood and gang raping her in an agricultural area.

During the appeal trial, the court sentenced three suspects to life, five to 15 years in prison, one to seven years of hard labor and another to five years in prison
