بعد لغز فقدان طائرة الخطوط الجوية الماليزية والبحث المستمر عنها لأسابيع، تعرضت طائرة أخرى تابعة لنفس الخطوط الجوية لحادث في مطار كاتمندو بالنيبال، بعد اصطدام سرب طيور بالزجاج الأمامي لها وتحطيمه.

وأضاف سومان أن الطائرة عادت إلى موطنها بعد إصلاح زجاج قمرة القيادة.
