أثارت طالبة من ولاية تكساس الأمريكية حالة من الغضب فى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية والمنظمات المعنية بحقوق الحيوان فى أفريقيا، بعد أن نشرت لنفسها صوراً على حسابها على موقع «فيس بوك»، تبتسم فيها بسعادة بالغة وهى تحتضن عدداً من الحيوانات البرية بعد أن قامت باصطيادها بالرصاص.

وقالت صحيفة «الإندبندنت» إن المشجعة «كيندال جونز»، 19 عاماً، تبدو أمام الكاميرا كأى طالبة عادية من ولاية تكساس، ولكن هناك فارقاً واحداً حاسماً، أنها تجلس بجانب أسد ميت تم قتله بالمسدس مؤخراً. ودفعت صور «كيندال» عدداً من الجمعيات المعنية بحقوق الإنسان إلى تقديم التماسات تطالب بإغلاق صفحتها على «فيس بوك» نهائياً ومنعها من دخول الدول الأفريقية. وقامت منظمتا «أفاز» و«شانج» بدعوة المهتمين بحقوق الحيوان للتوقيع على عريضتين، الأولى تدعو إلى إغلاق صفحة «جونز»، وبررت ذلك بأنه من أجل جميع الحيوانات خاصة فى المنطقة الأفريقية حيث يذهب الصيادون من أجل متعة قتل الحيوانات فقط، والثانية تدعو إلى منع دخول «جونز» إلى أى دولة أفريقية بعد نشرها صوراً لنفسها مع حيوانات مثل وحيد القرن وغزال ونمر وفيل وحمار وحشى وفرس النهر وكلها تم اصطيادها بالرصاص.

نفس ردود الفعل هى ما أثارته صور «جونز» لدى الصحف ومقدمى برامج التليفزيون الأمريكية الذين أكدوا أن «جونز» مريضة وفاسدة تريد قتل الحيوانات فقط للتباهى على الإنترنت.
