شارك الملك فاروق فى الاحتفال بمرور 25 عامًا على إنشاء جامعة القاهرة، وهو ما يُعرف بـ”اليوبيل الفضى”، فى عام 1950م.

King Farouk participated in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Cairo, which is known as the "Silver Jubilee", in 1950. 

وخلال تلك الاحتفالية، وطبقًا لما جاء بالموقع الرسمى للملك فاروق، فقد تم منحه درجة الدكتوراة الفخرية احتفالًا بتلك المناسبة، وأطلق عليها اسم “الجامعة المصرية”،  ثم غير الاسم ليصبح “جامعة فؤاد الأول” فى عهد الملك فاروق، ثم جامعة القاهرة بعد ثورة 23 يوليو المجيدة عام 1952.

During that celebration, According to a Active official of King Farouk, has been awarded an honorary doctorate to mark the occasion, and dubbed "the Egyptian University", then changed the name to become "Fouad I University" in the reign of King Farouk, then the University of Cairo after the revolution of 23 glorious July 1952. 

وكانت الأميرة فاطمة ابنة الخديو إسماعيل، هى صاحبة الفضل فى استكمال عمليات البناء فى الجامعة، حينما أعلنت بوقف مساحة من أراضيها وتبرعت بحوالى 6 أفدنة لإقامة مبنى للجامعة الأهلية، ووهبت مجوهراتها الثمينة للإنفاق على تكاليف البناء.

The Princess Fatima, the daughter of Khedive Ismail, is the owner of the credit for the completion of construction at the university, when he announced the halt of its territory and space donated by about 6 acres to build a building for the University of eligibility, and donated her jewelry precious to be spent on construction costs. 

فاطمة أوقفت ستة أفدنة خصصتها لبناء الجامعة، بخلاف 661 فدانًا من أجود الأراضى الزراعية بمديرية الدقهلية، وجعلت للجامعة من صافى ربحها 40%، بعد خصم استحقاقات ومرتبات يبلغ مجموعها 5239 جنيهًا كل سنة، وقدر إيراد هذه الوقفية بميزانية الجامعة بمبلغ 4000 جنيه سنويًا.

Fatima stopped six acres earmarked for the construction of the university, other than the 661 acres of the finest farmland Directorate of Dakahlia, and made for the University of net profit of 40%, after the deduction of benefits and salaries totaling 5239 pounds each year, and estimated revenue this endowment budget of the university in the amount of 4,000 pounds per annum.
