Minister Horace Burgess in Crossville,Tennessee has built the largest treehouse in the world. Burgess says he was instructed by God to build the massive structure when he was praying in 1993. The treehouse is built around an 80-foot-tall white oak tree with a 12-foot-diameter base. Six other oak trees also support the playhouse.
It was no small feat for Burgess who spent 14 years and $12,000 to build. The complex has 80 rooms, a basketball room, swings, a bell tower and stairs and ladders that lead nowhere. The quirky architecture was closed by the state’s fire marshall in 2012 due to it being a fire hazard. Despite its closure, the treehouse still has visitors marvelling at the fun and elaborate building.

Minister Horace Burgess said he had a vision while praying that instructed him to build the structure.
Horace said God instructed, "If you build a tree house, I'll see that you never run out of material."
The structure is known as the "Minister's Tree House."
The bell tower was constructed with repurposed oxygen tanks.
