Crash reportedly due to mechanical malfunction; crew hospitalized
A technical malfunction caused an Egyptian military helicopter to crash on the Cairo-Ismailia Road, the army’s spokesman said on his official Facebook page Saturday.
The helicopter was engaged in routine scouting when an unexpected mechanical error occurred, the statement added.
The helicopter’s crew were transported to a nearby hospital.
Egypt’s Armed Forces has said that a military helicopter that crashed on the Cairo-Ismailia road had encountered technical failure.
In a statement released by the Military, it was revealed that the helicopter crashed at 9:25AM while it was undergoing a procedural flight that included providing security and regular scouting.
The unexpected mechanical failure resulted in the injuries of the helicopter’s crew who were immediately transported to a nearby hospital.
