Queen Elizabeth II 88th Birthday

the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland celebrate the 88th Birthday of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen celebrates two birthdays: her actual birthday on April 21 and her official birthday on a Saturday in June. This is not uncommon because official celebrations to mark sovereigns’ birthday have often been held on a day other than the actual birthday, especially when the season of the actual birthday is not in summer.

The Queen celebrates her actual birthday privately. However, this occasion is marked publicly by several gun salutes in central London at midday: a 41-gun salute in hyde Park, a 21-gun salute in Windsor Great Park, and a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London.
Elizabeth II was born in London, the elder daughter of King George VI and Lady Elizabeth Bowles-Lyon. In 1944, she served as a Councilor of State while her father was on the war front in Italy.
She married Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on November 20, 1947, and a year later gave birth to a son, Charles. The Royal couple has four children and seven grandchildren.
Queen Elizabeth has managed to maintain a division between her public and private life. She is the first monarch to send her children to boarding schools. As Head of the Commonwealth,
she has a strong sense of duty and diligence and dispatches her official business with great candor, efficiency, and dignity. Her knowledge of current events and trends is impressively up to date. As well as carrying out significant constitutional functions
the Queen serves as a living symbol of national unity taking on duties such as presiding at ceremonial occasions, visiting local communities, and representing Britain around the world.
We congratulate the people and government of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland led by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and Their Excellencies, Prime Minister David Cameron, Deputy Minister Nick Clegg and Foreign Affairs Secretary William Hague, and its Embassy in the Philippines headed by H.E., Ambassador Asif Anwar Ahmad, on the occasion of Her Majesty’s actual birthday. We wish them the best and success in all their endeavors.
Happy Birthday Your Majesty

i am wishing you another year
Of laughter, joy and fun,
Surprises, love and happiness,
And when your birthday’s done,
I hope you feel deep in your heart,
As your birthdays come and go,
How very much you mean to me,
More than you can know
