وبعد أن قطع بينج رأس الأفعى، تركه لعدة دقائق على الطاولة، وعندما أراد إلقاء الرأس في سلة المهملات، فوجأ به يلدغه، ليفارق الحياة بعد استقباله لجرعة كبيرة من السم داخل جسمه. 

وأشار تقرير الشرطة، إلى أن بينج توفي قبل أن يصل إلى المستشفى، ولم يتمكن المسعفون من إعطائه المصل المضاد لسم الأفعى في الوقت المناسب، وما حدث أن الطباخ سيئ الحظ، لم ينتبه إلى أن رأس الأفعى لا يزال ينبض بالحياة عندما حاول إلقاءه في القمامة.
