ذكرت صحيفة واشنطن بوست الأمريكية أن الطفل الأردني فاروق عزام الذي يعيش في ولاية بنسلفانيا في الولايات المتحدة حقق حلمه ليصبح أصغر عميل لـلمخابرات المركزية الأمريكية "سي آي إيه" قبل وفاته لإصابته بمرض السرطان.
وأوضحت الصحيفة، أن "فاروق" يدرس في الصف الثاني بمدرسة الابتدائية دوانجتاون بولاية بنسلفانيا، وتحقق حلمه لكي يكون عميلا لـ "سي آي إيه" عندما زارت فيكتوريا وايت حفيدة الرسام الأمريكي المشهور نيويل وايث المدرسة، وقال لها "إنه يحلم أن يكون عميلا في المخابرات المركزية"، وقامت فيكتوريا بالاتصال بـ "سي آي إيه" وحقق حلمه.
وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أنه خلال تواجد فاروق في المستشفى في شهر أبريل أدى اليمين الدستورية ليكون عميلا للمخابرات المركزية، وعجلت وكالة المخابرات باستدعائه للوكالة وقضاء يوما كعميل وحمل اسما حركيا له "هابي – سعيد"، وزار فاروق المتحف الخاص بالوكالة وشاهد الوحدة الخاصة بالكلاب المدربة التي تسمى وحدة "كيه-9"، وكرم مدير المخابرات جون برينان، "فاروق" وأسرته.
وأضافت الصحيفة أن خلال الحفل عبر فاروق عن أمنيته بزيارة مكة المكرمة، وسارع "سي آي إيه" بالاتصال بالسلطات السعودية لدى واشنطن وبالتنسيق مع السفير السعودي عادل الجبير لتسهيل إصدار تأشيرة السفر لزيارة فاروق لتأدية مناسك العمرة ولكنه ابن الثمانية أعوام توفي في شهر أكتوبر الماضي لإصابته بمرض السرطان ولم يتمكن من زيارة الأراضي المقدسة.
ونوهت الصحيفة أن الأردن كانت المحطة الأخيرة لفاروق، لرغبة عائلته أن يدفن ابنهم في موطنه بالقرب من أهله وأقربائه.
