Pyramid tomb discovered at construction site in Zhengzhou
A coffin chamber containing two tombs, with one of them in the shape of a pyramid, has been recently discovered at a construction site in Zhengzhou, central China’s Henan Province.
The chamber, which is 30 meters long and 8 meters wide, also features a narrow aisle leading to a main dome next to the pyramid.
People in charge of the grave excavation said though cemeteries from the Han Dynasty (202-220 BC) abound in the nearby areas, the age of this one is still to be determined.
Who was buried inside the mausoleum, as well as the reason why it was built in the shape of a pyramid, are also under investigation.
