تجاوز "تحدي الثلج" لأغراض خيرية والذي شارك فيه آلاف الأشخاص من نجوم وشخصيات وأناس عاديين، من توم كروز إلى ليدي جاجا مرورًا ببيل جيتس، وعدد من نجوم وفناني مصر عتبة المائة مليون دولار من التبرعات.

وقالت جمعية التصلب العضلي الجانبي التي تكافح المرض المتلف للأعصاب الذي يعرف أيضًا باسم مرض لو جيريج، إنه في 29 أغسطس الجاري "تجاوزت جمعية "إيه إل إس" عتبة المائة مليون دولار من التبرعات".

وقالت رئيسة الجمعية باربرا نيوهاوس: "كلمة امتنان لا تكفي للتعبير عما نشعر به، هذا المال سيستخدم لتمويل أكثر الأبحاث تطورًا ومساعدة أشخاص مصابين بهذا المرض".

ويقوم التحدي على صب دلو من المياه المثلجة على الرأس، والتبرع بمبلغ مائة دولار وتسمية مرشح آخر ليقوم بالتحدي.

ودخل مئات المشاهير عبر العالم في التحدي من نجوم استعراض وسياسيين ورؤساء شركات كبرى ورياضيين، من بينهم تايلور سويفت وشاكيرا وجورج بوش الابن وكايتي بيري وتوم كروز ومات دايمن واوسين بولت وجيزيل بوندشن وجاستن بيبر ومارك زوكربرج وستيفن سبيلبرج ونيمار وكايت موس وديفيد وفيكتوريا بيكهام.
