Beard Of 3,300-Year-Old King Tut Mask ‘Glued Back On’ After Being Broken Off - لحية من 3،300 عاما بقناع الملك توت القديم "يتم لصقها" مرة أخرى بعد تعرضها للكسر

IT was reported that the the famous King Tutankhamun’s Mask was damaged and repaired hastily with basic tools.

رصد تقريرا يفيد بأن قناع للملك توت عنخ آمون الشهير قد لحقت به أضرار وتم إصلاحه بسرعة بأدوات بدائية .

 

According to the report, the beard on the Pharaoh’s mask was detached during cleaning at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and was “hastily” glued back on with epoxy.

ووفقا للتقرير، تم فصل اللحية عن قناع الفرعون أثناء التنظيف في المتحف المصري في القاهرة وكان "الأصلاح سريعا " بلصقها مرة أخرى بلاصق ايبوكسي.

Meanwhile, the mask was damaged by Museum employees and the damage was not reported to the Ministry of Antiquities.

في الوقت نفسه، تلف القناع من قبل موظفين المتحف ولم يتم الإبلاغ عن الأضرار التي لحقت به الى وزارة للآثار.

IT Was reported by sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals, confirmed the damage but did not clarify whether it occurred in 2015 or 2014.

كانت أوردت بعض المصادر، الذي تحدثت لوسائل صحفية عالمية شريطة عدم ذكر اسمهم خوفا من الانتقام، بتأكيد الضرر لكنه لم يوضح ما إذا كانت وقعت في عام 2015 أو 2014.

The report added that “orders came from the top to fix [the mask] quickly and that an inappropriate adhesive was used.”

 وأضاف التقرير أن "أوامر عليا جاءت لإصلاح [القناع] بسرعة وتم استخدام لاصق غير ملائم."

 

If reports are true, it remains to be seen what action the Ministry of Antiquities will take. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo has often been accused of being run negligently.

 

إذا كانت تلك التقارير صحيحة، فإنه يبقى أن نرى ما هي الإجراءات التى سوف تتخذها وزارة للآثار. وكثيرا ما اتهم المتحف المصري في القاهرة بالإهمال فى تعاملهم مع الأثار.

Just weeks ago, the government announced renovations of the Museum would commence.

قبل أسابيع فقط، أعلنت الحكومة أن التجديدات للمتحف ستبدأ.

 

The Mask of King Tut is made of gold inlaid with coloured glass and semiprecious stone. The Pharaoh ruled during ancient Egypt’s 18th dynasty more than 3,300 years ago.
