بالرغم من مرور أكثر من 108 أعوام على غرقها، من المقرر عرض رسالة كتبها القس جون هاربر على متن السفينة تيتانيك قبل غرقها في المزاد العلني هذا الشهر مقابل 38 ألف دولار أمريكى، حيث تم إرسال الرسالة بالبريد من أيرلندا قبل ثلاثة أيام من غرق تيتانيك في عام 1912.

Although more than 108 years have passed since its sinking, a letter written by priest John Harper on board the Titanic prior to its sinking is due to be auctioned this month for $ 38,000, as the letter was mailed to Ireland three days before the Titanic sank in 1912.

جون هاربر، قس من اسكتلندا، كان مسافرًا من لندن إلى شيكاجو في 14 أبريل 1912 عندما اصطدمت السفينة المنكوبة بجبل جليدي وغرقت، وتم وضع أخت هاربر وابنته على قوارب نجاة لكنه تطوع للبقاء على متنها وأعطى سترة النجاة لراكب آخر وفقا للعديد من الرويات.

John Harper, a priest from Scotland, was traveling from London to Chicago on April 14, 1912 when the ill-fated ship collided with an iceberg and sank. Harper's sister and daughter were put on lifeboats but volunteered to stay on board and gave life jacket to another passenger according to several accounts.
