Moscow on Ice

Between 7 and 10 April 2015, a troupe of ice skaters from Russia will perform Nutcracker on ice at the Cairo Opera House's main hall.

Presenting itself as "Moscow on Ice", originally the troupe planned to perform in Cairo in late March, however the show was postponed due to "problems in equipment transportation", the Opera house said.

Coming to Cairo in the peak of heat, the Nutcracker is being presented to remind us of the winter season's Christmas tradition in Russia. 

In this context, the ice also adds to the cold season's sensation.

"Moscow on Ice" is a show incorporating professional figure skaters performing jumps, spirals, some acrobatics, and circus elements.

The performance continues daily, until 10 April.
