وتوصل الدكتور وسيم السيسي، أستاذ جراحة المسالك البولية، زميل كليات الجراحين الملكية بإنجلترا، وعالم المصريات، في كتابه «مصر علّمت العالم»، إلى أن الحضارة الفرعونية تعرّضت لظلم لم تتعرض له حضارة أخرى بسبب الجهل بها، خاصة من أبنائها الذين لا يعرف كثير منهم أن أقدم جراحات المخ في التاريخ تمت في بلادهم قبل أكثر من أربعة آلاف عام.

ويضيف «السيسي» أنه يُحسب لهم أيضًا أنهم أول من قاموا بعملية التربنة والعملية كانت ناجحة، وكان واضحًا في المومياء أن قشرة العظم كست على حواف العظام والمريض عاش بعدها فترة طويلة، وهذا دليل على أن العملية دقيقة، لأن الجرّاح إذا جرح dura mater، فسائل المخ سيُصفَّى، فكانوا يفهمون جيدًا في الجسم البشرى، والذي ساعدهم على فهم دقائقه هو التحنيط.

ويشير إلى أن المصريين أجروا عمليات متعددة منذ فجر التاريخ، وأول عملية أجريت كانت عملية تربنة في الجمجمة.

He points out that the Egyptians conducted multiple operations since the dawn of history, and the first operation was conducted in the skull concutere process.
